PN2012KN201 is an NSK Megatorque PN Series (high-torque low-profile) direct-drive motor. The PN series features a low-profile, high-torque-density design (this model: dia. 170 mm, height only 35 mm), suited to height-constrained rotary indexing.
Why zero-backlash direct drive: Megatorque motors drive the load directly without gears or belts — no backlash, no wear parts, no accuracy degradation over time, fast settling, low noise and maintenance-free. The large hollow bore (36 mm on this model) passes cables, piping or laser paths straight through, simplifying machine design. Widely used in semiconductor/electronic-component inspection, vision processing and rotary indexing stages.
Key specs: maximum output torque 12 / 10 N·m (rated 2 / 2 N·m), max speed 2 / 2 s⁻¹; a built-in absolute position sensor (2,621,440 count/rev) delivering ±2 arc-sec repeatability and 90 (±45) arc-sec absolute accuracy; allowable axial load 1,000 N, allowable moment load 20 N·m, mass 3.7 kg. Pairs with the EDD driver unit series (100–240 VAC per the NSK pairing table). See the attached official catalog for dimensions and speed–torque characteristics.
Same-series part numbers: PN3045KN001, PN4135KN001, PN4180KN001.
Sizing & Integration Support
Direct-drive motor sizing involves the inertia ratio (load inertia / rotor inertia) and the motion profile against the speed–torque curve. Add your load conditions (inertia, motion angle, cycle time, mounting orientation) to the inquiry cart — the Nahshon engineering team will help you select the right model and confirm specs, quotation and delivery with NSK.
