Product Description

RS4040A is a standard-length rolled shaft for NSK R-series (transfer equipment) ball screws: shaft diameter 40 mm, lead 40 mm, rolled accuracy Ct10 with slight clearance (no preload). Standard lengths: 2,000 / 3,000 / 4,000 mm (ordering code = RS + dia/lead code + A + length code in 100 mm units: 2,000 mm -> RS4040A20; 3,000 mm -> RS4040A30; 4,000 mm -> RS4040A40). Shaft ends are supplied blank - cutting, annealing, turning and keyway milling are done by the customer, or can be arranged via NSK / Nahshon (machining guidelines: E3162 B340 / B345).

R-series nut assemblies and screw shafts are sold separately: nuts ship mounted on an arbor and are transferred onto the shaft at assembly (procedure: E3162 B340).

For measurement and machining equipment that need high positioning accuracy, choose the ground-finish C3/C5 grades; for general material handling and automation mechanisms, the rolled-finish C7 grade is sufficient and offers a cost and lead-time advantage.
