mechonics Banner

mechonics AG (Munich, Germany) has specialized in stick-slip piezo inertia positioning for over two decades: nanometre steps accumulate into millimetre-range travel, with self-locking position hold at zero power and no heat. Ideal where space is tight, in vacuum (UHV editions) and cryogenic setups, or wherever position must hold through power-off. Product lines: MS/ML/DS miniature linear stages (3.5–30 mm travel, XY/XYZ stackable), MK single-mode fiber couplers, CU/CF/CH drive controllers and NOVA multi-axis controllers. Nahshon is the mechonics distributor for Taiwan.

Product Description

The CF30 is a 3-axis open-loop controller for Mechonics piezo inertial drive stages. The full step size is approximately 700 nm and every full step is divided into 64 micro steps. Special drive waveforms provide particularly smooth motion, which is ideal for microscopy, optical alignment and other smoothness-critical applications.

The controller is operated with plain-text ASCII commands at up to 800 commands per second, keeping the integration effort low. Depending on the version, it offers a USB 2.0 (full speed) or EIA-485 (RS-485) interface. A single axis can be powered directly from USB (5 VDC); simultaneous control of all axes uses a 6 VDC user plug.

Drivers are available for Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Linux (32/64 bit), complemented by FTDI drivers for Windows, Linux and macOS.

FAQ
How do I choose between open-loop and closed-loop versions?
Choose closed-loop when you need absolute positioning accuracy and repeatability (e.g. measurement, alignment). Open-loop is more cost-effective and responds faster when you only need relative fine motion or scanning, or when your system already has its own feedback.
Can I test the unit before deciding?
Nahshon is the exclusive distributor of piezosystem jena in Taiwan and keeps commonly used demo units available for scheduled testing, with Chinese-language selection support and direct access to factory engineering.
How do I confirm pricing and lead time for CF.030.0003?
Add CF.030.0003 along with your stroke, load and accuracy requirements to your inquiry list, and we'll help confirm the selection and reply with the factory quote and lead time.
