Product Description

The NC6 is the main controller of the Mechonics NOVA modular control system. It is CAN-based and connects to the PC via USB 2.0 (high speed). Six RJ45 ports accept NOVA drive and sensor devices, and an additional RJ45 port allows further NOVA controllers to be daisy-chained for easy system expansion.

With the corresponding NOVA device modules, the NC6 drives piezo inertial positioning stages, stepper motors and various sensors. The built-in supply provides 6 x 1 A at 5 VDC and 6 x 0.1 A at 42 VDC for the connected devices.

Executable GUI software for Microsoft Windows 10/11 (32/64 bit) is included, along with a DLL for integration in C/C++, C#, LabVIEW and other languages.

How do I choose between open-loop and closed-loop versions?
Choose closed-loop when you need absolute positioning accuracy and repeatability (e.g. measurement, alignment). Open-loop is more cost-effective and responds faster when you only need relative fine motion or scanning, or when your system already has its own feedback.
